New MeToo doc Rocking the Couch fixes on Wallace Kaye case

Film is now available in both US and UK

A new #metoo documentary has been released in the UK.

“Rocking the Couch”, from filmmaker Minh Collins, fixes on a case against talent agent Wallace Kaye, who in 1992, was brought to court by 12 unknown actresses.

The documentary explores the case and asks, “Why didn’t we hear about this?” More importantly, why didn’t Hollywood learn from this case? For, if they had, maybe the Cosbys and the Weinsteins would have learned as well, and these sexual exploitations could have been prevented.

“Minh [Collins] and I were having coffee. I knew him because he directed me in the Hit List, and we’ve been friends ever since,” actress Andrea Evans, who produced the film, told Digital Journal. “He knew I wanted to get into the producing end as well. It was right when the Harvey Weinstein scandal had just broken, and the Bill Cosby events were going on. We thought that somebody would make a great documentary about this, and we just looked at each other and said ‘why not us.’ We wanted to present a realistic view of what happened and include things that I don’t think the mainstream media did.”

Produced by Evans (“The Bay”), Minh Collins, and Jerry Sommer, and starring Lauren Anastasi-Peter, Ikon Barenbolm, Alana Crow, Jennifer Durst, Tiffani Fest and Sadie Katz, “Rocking the Couch” releases in the UK after a successful release in North America.

Hollywood titans, Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby, have been brought to their knees by the #MeToo movement. But they did not invent Casting Couch. The term casting couch has existed for decades. But in 1992, a case against talent agent, Wallace Kaye, was brought to court by 12 unknown actresses, who braved the loss of their careers, their privacy, and their Hollywood dreams. They stepped forward, despite the advice of their union, and brought the case to the police. Against all odds, they won, and no one listened.
