Diane Edwards selected for Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).

TASMANIA, AUSTRALIA – 12 Sep, 2017 – Diane Edwards, Support Worker of Nexus Inc and Former Senior Social Worker Here4U Wokingham Borough Council, was selected as Top Social Worker of the Year and for the Lifetime Achievement Award  by  the International Association of Top Professionals’ for her outstanding leadership, dedication and longevity in the field.

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members are chosen for this distinction based on their years of experience in the field, professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, and contributions to their communities.  These are truly incredibly talented professionals who have dedicated their life to their work and have had a lifetime of achievement and success!

Diane is being recognized for this achievement for having over 2 decades of professional experience in the Social Work industry and for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the field.  Her selection for these awards will be announced at IAOTP’s 2017 Annual Award gala at the Ritz Carlton in Battery Park NYC, and she will be receiving the engraved Sapphire Diamond Crystal Tower for her Lifetime of Achievement & Success.  Diane was also selected as Top Social Worker of the Year for 2017 and was awarded the Jade Crystal Desk piece.

Diane has certainly proven herself as an accomplished professional and expert in the field over the years. As a dynamic, results-driven leader, she has demonstrated success not only for Nexus Inc, but has been successful in every position employed.  Diane’s impressive repertoire of past roles include; Team Leader for Gateway Services Mission Australia; Child Protection Practitioner for the Department of Health and Human Services, Children and Youth Services; and Senior Social Worker for Wokingham Borough Council.  Diane’s key responsibilities for Nexus include providing physical, emotional and social support to young adults with a disability to attain as much independence as possible.  Guides and educates the young adult how to maintain a enjoyable and healthy quality of life.  In her previous roles in social work Diane has had to handle a wide range of cases anywhere ranging from child abuse, neglect, working with children who are unaccompanied minors seeking asylum, Pre Birth Assessment training, working with Community Based Child Protection Officers, provided crisis support, case planning, intake, case allocation and much more.

Diane graduated from the University of Tasmania with her Bachelor of Social Work, Behavioural Science, Social Work, Philosophy, and Psychology in 1991 and received her Graduate Certificate Management Public Sector from RMIT University in 2007.

The President of IAOTP, Stephanie Cirami, stated “Choosing Diane for this award was an easy decision for our panel to make.  She is talented, dedicated, and brilliant at what she does.  She has dedicated her life to helping others and we felt she would make an amazing asset to our organization.  We hope to meet her at the gala and we know we will be seeing more amazing things from this woman.”

Diane remains active in her community and has been recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession. For 2018 she is being considered for a feature in TIP (Top Industry Professional) Magazine and for the International Association of Top Professionals “Top Female Executive” Award.  For 2017, she was selected as Top Social Worker of the Year by IAOTP.  For 2016, she was selected as Outstanding Professional of the Year in Social Work by the International Society of Business Leaders.

Looking back, Diane attributes her success to her training, her perseverance, mentors she has had along the way, and her passion for what she does. For the future, she will continue to grow as a professional and continue to make a difference in people’s lives any way that she can.
